Visit Baton Rouge Board selects Jill Kidder as new CEO

Jill Kidder has been named the new CEO of Visit Baton Rouge.

BATON ROUGE, La. – Visit Baton Rouge’s board of directors decided Thursday to hire Louisiana Travel Association (LTA) current president and CEO Jill Kidder as the next CEO. The LTA is a trade association and the primary voice of Louisiana’s tourism industry, providing advocacy, education and advocacy.

Kidder also serves as president and CEO of the Louisiana Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus (LACVB) and previously served as executive director of the Alexandria/Pineville CVB.

Claude Reynaud, Jr., Chairman of the Board of Directors of Visit Baton Rouge, said, “We had the opportunity to spend time with the three outstanding finalists for this job and were faced with a difficult decision. The board has ambitious goals to take Baton Rouge to the next level as a destination and we believe that Jill has the experience and love for our city and state to get us there. I’m excited for our future.”

Current CEO Paul Arrigo, who announced earlier this year that he will retire in September, praised the board and congratulated Kidder.

“The search committee and the board did an excellent job in the selection process,” Arrigo said. “Jill inherits a staff that is second to none. I look forward to working with her and the staff to make the transition as smooth as possible, and I wish her the best of luck in Baton Rouge.”

Kidder and two other finalists were interviewed by the selection committee on the 13th-15th. in the public meetings held in June, where the candidates were offered additional opportunities to meet board members, senior staff and restaurant industry stakeholders.
