Everyone’s high school experience is different – just ask Mindy Kaling.
Former star Office is the creator of Netflix I have neverwhich just dropped its third season on August 12. The program follows Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) and his diverse friends as they try to navigate high school and adolescence in California’s San Fernando Valley.
While the show deals with some tough real-life issues — death, cultural differences, broken hearts — it’s undeniably breezy and lighter than some of its contemporaries, namely HBO. Euphoria.
Mindy said it’s totally planned.
“I love Euphoria and I think [creator] Sam [Levinson] is like a genius. I think he has a lot to say about sex and drug use and addiction, and they’re incredibly interesting, but we don’t have a lot of experience with that,” he shared. The Hollywood Reporter August 11th. “I’m watching that show on the edge of my seat, but I feel like geeks who lust after men are more what we’re comfortable writing about, so we’re doing this. We’re writing about strugglers and dorks and people who are underrated.”
